Glavan Brown, Billy Ernest Craven, Jr., Matthew Vance Frady, Dr. Robert Lee
Frady, John Perry Hendrix, Sr., John Perry Hendrix, Jr., John Edward Howard,
Holton Smith King, Charles Dickinson Martin, Julian Isaac Newton, Jr., James
Cofield Newton, George Thomas Perry, Kline Osborn Pugh, Victor Lewis Raimey,
William Hughes Raper, Allan Creel Torgesen, Rev. Melville Blaine Walker, Robert
Jack Watkins, John Larry Whitfield, and John Wilson Whitfield.
Charter officers were: President, John Perry
Hendrix, Sr.; Vice President, John Larry Whitfield; Secretary-Treasurer, Charles
Dickinson Martin; and Registrar, Ronald Marshall Ayers.
Serving as Chapter Presidents have been Perry
Hendrix, Larry Whitfield, Kline Pugh, Tom Brown, Bobby York, and Richard M. Ramsaur.
The Joseph Habersham Chapter of the National Society of the Sons of the American
Revolution is a historical, educational, and patriotic nonprofit, United States
501(c)3, organization that seeks to maintain and extend the institutions of
American freedom, an appreciation for true patriotism, a respect for our
national symbols, the value of American citizenship, the unifying force of e
pluribus Unum that has been created from the people of many nations into one
nation and one people.
The Joseph Habersham Chapter represents Banks,
Franklin, Habersham, Rabun, Stephens and White counties in Northeast Georgia.
Seven Chapter members serve in the GASSAR Color
Guard: Ted Smith, Perry Hendrix, Sr., Jim Patton, Richard Ramsaur,
Bobby York, and Larry Whitfield (Commander). Other members are Bruce Maney.
Meetings
Joseph Habersham Chapter meets each 2nd Tuesday of each
month, at
Clarkesville, North Georgia Technical College, Ramsay Hunter Dining Hall. Dinner
is at 6:15 p.m., meeting at 7:00. For directions call Kline Pugh at
